Kape POS coffee shop point of sale and inventory desktop app

01 / Overview

Behind the interface.

A local first point of sale built for Philippine coffee shops, derived from the Tindahan architecture and extended with a drink model. Cup sizes become product variants, shared modifier groups cover milk, sugar, ice, shots, syrups and toppings, and made to order drinks draw down beans, milk and cups through recipes into an append only ingredient ledger.

02 / Implementation

What makes it work.

  1. Twenty three feature modules behind twenty five REST controllers and eighty six endpoints, over thirty three tables and twenty five Flyway migrations.

  2. Checkout prices cup size and modifier deltas on the server, snapshots those choices onto the sale line, then deducts ingredients for drinks and FEFO batch stock for shelf goods.

  3. Paid drinks take a daily ticket number and enter a barista queue that moves from placed to preparing to ready to completed, while retail only baskets never reach the bar.

  4. Sixteen role driven screens across barista cashier, supervisor, inventory and owner, gated by thirty four permission codes with supervisor override requests on sensitive actions.

  5. A sale is never blocked on ingredient arithmetic. Consumption is treated as an estimate, so shortfalls surface as low stock alerts rather than refused orders.
